Gift certificates are a really bad gift. It’s like, “Hey, I didn’t know what to get you. Here’s some money, but you can only spend it in one place.” It’s just specific enough of a present to be “meaningful” but not specific enough to save an arbitrary trip to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Is it offensive to not spend somebody’s gift certificate?...
