Del and I talked to today about if we ever started a bar, how we’d have rules on the front door about what’s acceptable and not acceptable at the bar, and the rules would be really detailed. A few of the good ones are below, though I could go on endlessly making these rules. No one would be allowed in the bar but me and my friends, but we’d have 20 rotating taps of microbrews and it’d be a super fun place.

No popped collars.

No sandals or flip flops (on guys)

No loud singing of “Living on a Prayer” or “Don’t Stop Believing” with a big group of your friends in the middle of the bar.

No overly emo haircuts.

No ordering Amstel Light (even though we will have one Amstel Light bottle on display behind the bar).

Can I make a couple suggestions?

1. Free soda/juice/ice tea for designated drivers.

2. Yelling “Social” is immediate grounds for dismissal.

Here’s a suggestion:

Anybody who yells “WOOOOOO!” must immediately thereafter explain why they yelled “WOOOOOO!” For example, “WOOOOOO! I’m an alcoholic!”

Put everything in boxes.
Make house presentable to potential homebuyers.
Loaf.
Pile all of my Final Cut Pro work on my hard drive (so I can use it on my computer).
Buy a The Bird shirt. (Note: in my three years here, I’ve been to The Bird about 70 times and bought, altogether, about $8 worth of drinks. I feel the shirt will compensate for this somehow.)
Form a band (called Gag Reflex, I hope), then play a farewell show on Saturday.
Say goodbye to whoever’s left.

Life is pretty sweet!
